To add insult to injury, CBS is pre-empting Guiding Light for not one but TWO days in its next-to-last week.

GL will be pre-empted on Monday, September 7th and Friday, September 11th,

I’ll miss GL too those days. Want every bit of Springfield I can get.
But in fairness, it’s not like this preemption is anything new. CBS always preempts their soaps on Labor Day and the Friday after Labor Day for the US Open Tennis. They’ve been doing that since the back in the early 80s, if not longer.
And since these preemptions have long been planned, the writers knew to write around it. So, it’s not like there are actual episodes that were set to air on those days that are suddenly going to be preempted at the last minute.

Unfortunately, Andrea, I’m not. There are only 13 episodes to go.
I suspect this is why some of the recent episodes were cut down, because they had to fit them in around pre-emptions.
They do this every year. I wouldn’t expect them to change it.
